IIC Australian Chapter: Australia’s Creative Economy

IIC Australian Chapter held an event Australia's Creative Economy, Harnessing telecommunications, media and technology to make our own luck, 21 August 2019, hosted by Gilbert+Tobin.

Our keynote, Michelle Rowland MP, the Shadow Minister for Communications, was introduced by our host, G+T Partner Danny Gilbert. Michelle discussed the strategic importance of Australia's creative industries in fostering the digital economy, and opportunities for harnessing their potential with policy, regulation and investment in the TMT space. The panel discussion, moderated by IIC President Chris Chapman, featured Debra Richards, CEO of Ausfilm, Matthew Deaner, CEO of Screen Producers Australia, Edward Fong, Chair of Interactive Games and Entertainment Association and Managing Director of Ubisoft Australia and New Zealand; and Bill Spain, Partner at Gilbert + Tobin also provided relevant, in-depth industry insight. Attendees also actively participated in the Q&A session.
